Girl of the Golden West

I-25

Garden of the Gods

Family of Deer

Rocky Mountains

Highway 9

The Reservoir; or, their next album cover!

For the Christmas holidays, my honey and I joined my family in Colorado.

Though I've always been a city girl, I feel at home in the wide open spaces of the American Southwest. The adventurous spirit of the West courses through me and I often wonder if I were Butch Cassidy or The Sundance Kid in a past life.

Colorado's landscape is as varied as it is beautiful. To the East is the western edge of The Great Plains with its tumbling tumbleweed and prickly pears. To the West is the Southern Rocky Mountains with its vast snowy passes and promises of gold.

I love the abandoned mines and ghost towns along Highway 9 that hint at a storied past. I love the charming old Western towns with trading posts and legends of healing waters. I love the wild herds of antelope and buffalo. And I love the world class ski slopes!

Well I'm off to read Centennial!

P.S. Where oh where can I find Fat Tire in Canada?!
